My Work

I am an experienced coach. I use my expertise in leadership development in three different ways:

  1. As a coach to help people from different backgrounds and sectors to be the best they can be

  2. As a facilitator to deliver powerful leadership development programmes for women who are looking to move to the next level in their careers. I work with The Pipeline helping participants in the public and private sectors to break through to the next level. https://www.execpipeline.com

  3. As a project manager leading complex projects with multiple stakeholders. I led the team which oversaw the project for the first UK Commonwealth Youth Forum which was held in London prior to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting. I had lead responsibility for the operational arrangements for this high profile and large-scale successful global event.

My clients include Hermes Parcelnet (now Evri) , Morrisons, Macmillan Cancer Support, BBC Scotland, Yorkshire Bank, The Commonwealth Secretariat, Central Government Departments, EY Global, Common Purpose and small business owners.

Persistent focus

“I had the direct pleasure and challenge of a really useful series of coaching sessions with Karen as I began my Chief Finance Officer role. Karen’s persistent focus on helping me to articulate what I wanted to achieve and commit to actions played a big part in my speedy assimilation into my role and the business”.

Alan Richardson, Executive Board Member & Chief Finance Officer, Hermes Parcelnet Ltd (now Evri)

Invaluable sessions

“Karen was one of the leadership trainers on The Pipeline programme which was for black and ethnic minority women in the public sector. Karen kicked off with enthusiasm, honesty and professionalism and displayed an open and trusted approach to discussions on sensitive topics. Karen led sessions on the power and art of networking, strategic leadership and thinking - these sessions were invaluable! Karen, I was the first person to enter the room on the first day of the programme and you were so warm and welcoming. I learnt a great deal - thank you for your investment and for making me feel counted and appreciated”.
